Frequently Asked Questions

How long do I have to stay off my driveway after you finish?
For sealcoat you have to stay off the driveway for 24 hours. For paving you need to stay off the new asphalt for 3-5 days.

What do I do if I get oil or gas on my driveway?
Wash the area with liquid laundry detergent and a stiff brush rinse with water.

What do I do if I get a crack in my driveway?
All asphalt cracks. It is important to keep any large ¼” or larger cracks filled. Small cracks will be filled with just sealcoat.

What is the difference between hot crack fill and cold crack fill?
Hot crack fill is applied at 350 degrees and has a higher rubber content, it is used for larger cracks. Cold crack fill is a caulking material and is fine to use on smaller cracks.

Where do you perform work?
We work all over the greater Chicago area.

Can I use salt on my driveway during the winter?
Yes, but we do recommend to use salt sparingly.

My new driveway seems to soften when it gets hot, what can I do?
Asphalt softens when there is a lot of heat absorbed into driveway. If we get a few very hot days in a row, we suggest watering the driveway to cool it off when you water the grass or flowers.

How long have you been in business?
We have been in the asphalt business since 1984.
